The Woodruff and Cross Roads Church Community

United Church of Christ Congregations in Long Beach and Lakewood, CA

No matter who you are or where you are on life's journey, you are welcome here.

Join with us on our quest for spiritual growth in an environment of love and acceptance. Our informal services are held every Sunday morning and Tuesday evenings with good music and timely topics. Discover the joy it brings to your life when you are embraced by a community of friendly and spiritually dedicated people.

Both Woodruff and Cross Roads Community Churches have small, friendly congregations. You won't be lost in a crowd when you visit and because we are small, every person is very important to the life of the church. We would love to have you join us and we welcome you wherever you are on your spiritual path.

God is still speaking graphicThe Truth is God and God is the Truth.
Truth is, in the end, all that matters. Truth is not what I know or what you know. Truth is discovered slowly as we trust God and love each other. It is approached when I can listen to you in loving openness and you can speak your truth to me in loving trust. Trusting love is the only key to discovering the truth.

First of all, we preach God's love.
Without knowing we are loved, we won't have the courage to tell the truth about ourseves and we won't have the courage to seek the truth in others. For us that love is proven on the cross and in the faith filled joy of Easter, but others may come to trust other ways.

We do not have all the answers.
God's Truth is not something written in a book or given to someone on a mountain. Though the way to find that truth, and the love which gives us the courage to look, is found in the Bible and on those mountaintops where we surrender ourselves to a reality immensely beyond our own vision.

With you, we will keep looking.
God's truth is unfolding every day. God's truth is the truth within and behind the universe. God's truth is more than all humans together can know and far more than any one religion could know.
